Join the Caribou Clean Water Partnership
Joining the Caribou Clean Water Partnership indicates a commitment to the goal of preventing new phosphate mining permits until current polluted sites are fully cleaned and new mining methods developed to stop the creation of additional sources of pollution to water and lands. Membership also indicates agreement with our stated values of actively protecting all natural sources of clean water in Caribou Country. Thank you for showing such a commitment. We welcome you as a partner.
Other ways to help:
WRITE A LETTER TO THE EDITOR
For the past couple decades the mining companies have waged a constant public relations campaign to hide their pollution practices and convince local media and residents that these practices are not harmful. As a result of this effort, some local news outlets have not shown much interest in covering this issue. Writing a letter TODAY will help. It will show the media that this issue is important. It will also help expand awareness to others.
To increase chances of getting published:
- Be brief, 200 to 250 words max
- Be focused, try to address one issue at a time
- Include your full name and contact information
- Include "letter to the editor" in subject line of email
